People are enjoying the rains in spite of it being pouring down on the weekdays. I guess it's the long wait for the monsoon that has made everyone realize the value of it so much. It is difficult for those who have to travel to work daily and the students who have to attend their schools/colleges.

It is pouring cats and dogs in the beautiful city of Mumbai. The shoppers are enjoying shopping online. Social media buffs are busy networking as there is water all over, no where to go.

It is amazing weather to hang around at the Worli sea face. I am planning to go with my girl gang and sit at the sea shore, enjoy the weather, the city and the sea. Yes, you can enjoy it all in one place that's why Worli sea face is so special. Bandra fort is another great option for a beautiful day like today. I guess we must carry some Vadas with some spicy dip. Get out and rock!

The biggest celebration of Mumbai is nearing day by day. I hope you guessed it. Yes, the Ganesh Utsav (Ganapati). The drum playing bands have started their practice every evening already. They start practicing a month in advance to be ready for the exclusive festival that Mumbai enjoys every monsoon. Everywhere we can see the statues of Ganesha being carved and getting ready. The statues are decorated with glittering beeds, beautiful colors, shiny stones, rich clothes and beyond imagination designs and ideas of each statue. The same lord is given so many looks every single year, it's astonishing! How people come up with these unique ideas year after year to amaze devotees and bring out such art, is mind boggling. I guess it's the spirit and the passion for the event that pumps up the enthusiasm.

It is a beautiful monsoon Sunday in the Beautiful Mumbai. Everyone seems to be enjoying indoors with their family. People were waiting for this wet Sunday for a while now when they have a ready made excuse not to go out on the streets on the weekend. Everyone woke up with a smile on their face today feeling chilly and cold in the morning. Have a great Sunday!

The weather is not normal weather for Mumbai. These days it rains for some time then it becomes too hot. It is a mixture of sun & rain. Many rainbows to see. Hope that it starts raining properly soon otherwise there will be water shortage all over.

It's another beautiful day, the birds are singing happily in the trees, the sea breeze is blowing through the windows making life even more comfortable and relaxing than what it already is, and it's making me happy to sit here in my armchair while listening to some peppy music playing on the rechargeable speakers, the volume is just low enough for me to enjoy the combination of sounds from the birds and the music. This is the life in my beautiful city...

Mumbai is a city where you can feel lonely in a crowd and completely at peace when your alone. It is an ideal place to practice Mindfulness, a simple method of being totally tuned to the present, experiencing the now right now, not letting the mind waver nor lose focus, just being here, taking in the sights and smells, relishing long chats in the evenings with good friends over endless sips of fine Darjeeling Tea, life's to be enjoyed in a relaxed and hassle-free manner, anyone who disturbs the balance in your life must be ignored and deleted from your memory...

Traveling to big cities like Mumbai and New York can be exciting and educational. However, there will always be touts, scams and shitty guides all around the place. It's most important to do your research well before you take off. Find out all that you can about the city that you are visiting. Don't blindly trust guides and other self proclaimed experts. Make your travel and buying decisions yourself. Use tips, advice, and suggestions only to help steer you in the right direction. Nothing more.

Taking photos when you travel is a habit of almost everybody. Recently, I met a weirdo at a travel meetup who was fanatically against the clicking of photos during tours and travels that we do. He was sitting there talking about this travels to some villages in South America while saying this. Today he is a jobless loser who sits at home and lives off his parents money. Perhaps if we had taken some nice photos of his travels to the South American continent then he could have build a blog around that theme and made some money out of it.
Besides, the moment someone else gives us advice on travel then it is time to shut them up and move on. A true traveler does not give advice. Especially not about taking photos to remember where you went and what you did.
I can bet a good amount of money that this loser cum weirdo we met at this travel meetup recently hasn't even been to those villages in South America. After all, we only have his words for it, nothing else that proves he was there. And to a body language trainer with 18 years experience in teaching it to thousands of people, I can safely say that this guy was a compulsive liar.

The smells of the city is something to talk about for a moment. The smell of a variety of food. The aroma of incenses. The other smells that show that this is a vibrant city. A diverse neighborhood. The reason we love calling it our home is because there is no other place that smells as wonderful as Mumbai does.

People of Mumbai love partying and clubbing. Throughout the year people go to dine out at restaurants, go to pubs, shopping, for movies and to meet friends at coffee shops. I guess that's what makes this city financially so strong because people tend to spend a lot of money on enjoyment.
Kirti - Jun 13 2017 - 8:44pm
Mumbai is very very busy right now due to Ramadan. Streets are filled with people at specific times of the day. I do not know if it is good or bad to have shops all across the city. Small shops, big shops, supermarkets, shopping malls, etc. But, one thing is there for sure it is because of all these shops that our city looks so vibrant at all times. Those who do not like crowds all over and streets filled with people will not appreciate this system but those who like lively places will definitely love the feel.

There is a noticeable inflation in my feelings for my beautiful city during the rainy season. I long to explore the hills, the beaches, the farms, the lakes and the numerous gardens that line different corners of Beautiful Mumbai. Just viewing a picture of the falling rain during this time of the year makes my heart melt.

Mumbai is a big, beautiful and populated city. As you roam the length and breadth of the city, you will come across all kinds of people, from all walks of life. Just yesterday, while I was attending a travel meet, I was shocked to discover the compulsive liars that walk the streets of this city. Here is where technology can help us in a few ways. A quick scan of someone's online social media profile while tell you a lot about them and you are certain to find out the truth about them. But sometimes it's just not possible to invest so much time in researching someone else. The best thing to do then is to trust your gut instinct. As an experienced counselor and body language trainer, I always go by my gut instincts when I meet someone for the first time. In today's Mumbai, almost 70% of the people you meet are lying about something or the other. Therefore, use your sixth sense to guide you whether to spend time with them or ignore them. Life is short, we don't have a century to live this one, it makes sense to spend time only with those people who resonate well with your sixth sense. The rest can take a hike!

Anyone who is born and raised in Mumbai knows that it rains heavily each year towards the end of June and almost the whole of July. Everyone who's part of our great city loves the rain, embraces the floods and makes the most of the city's natural beauty by enjoying with friends and family.

One of the many things that I am eternally thankful to God for is the life in Mumbai that I have been given. It's a city of beauty, abundance, joy and good times. Anyone who complains about the city are simply not able to look around and see the beauty all around. They focus only on the negatives hence they crib and complain. It's a city that's ever welcoming, constantly absorbing migrants from all parts of the country, even allowing the tourists to settle down and make this beautiful city their home. Thank you God for giving me this wondrous life in Mumbai....

I fondly remember the long walks we would take inside the national park and Film City during the rainy season. Getting wet and dirty but still loving every minute of it. Eating hot potato vadas thereafter. Clicking photos in weird poses. Ha the life in my beautiful Mumbai. Missing you plenty right now :)

Mumbai is a home for more than 20 million people and because of that we have a mechanism called BMC that takes care of almost everything in the city. Right from roads to garbage, buildings to slums, environment to water, everything. BMC tries it's best to keep our roads spacious and clean 24/7 but I don't understand why certain sections do not co-operate in keeping our city beautiful and clean. We have street vendors almost every where in the city which is okay but many of these vendors cause road accidents of pedestrians by grabbing the entire footpath. There is no footpath or extra road space left for people to walk on the street because of these vendors. BMC keeps coming and removing them from their illegal encroachment and they keep coming back.

It's a slow and lazy Afternoon this side of town. The weather is making me feel sleepy as I try to stay awake for a bit longer by sipping on a freshly brewed cup of fine Darjeeling Tea. The crows are helping me stay awake by crowing a hell of a lot. Maybe they are upset about the rain just like so many sulking office goers are. Luckily, it's the weekend, then again every single day of the year is like a weekend for me...

It is such a lazy Saturday in Mumbai today. The dark clouds are filling up the skies, the rain is coming and going in regular spells, the mood is definitely lazy yet upbeat as everyone wants to head outside and enjoy the showers along with their loved ones and friends. It's the perfect time to venture into the hills and experience the cool waters of many virgin waterfalls upon thy back and shoulders, what a beautiful city to live in, paradise...

It's a typical Monsoon morning in Mumbai, nice and breezy with the gentle hint of the rain in the air, everyone's going about their day on this last day of the week, the weekend looms up ahead, for me though, the weekend has already begun, woke up nice and late, stood at the living room window, looked around and took in the delightful sights of the wet leaves on the green green trees, then enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast, eggs & cheese & toasted bread slices, a cup of freshly brewed Madras Coffee to add in some liquid to my menu, then just relaxed and practiced Mindfulness before I got here to share this with you...

Today evening I asked my Mom to fry some Kanda Bhajiyas (onion fried with some spices into small bites). I love eating Kanda Bhajiyas during the rains. As soon as monsoon kicks in Mumbai, I get this irresistible feeling to eat Bhajiyas with hot cup of tea or hot chocolate milk. Today I had the first round of it, tomorrow evening should try some tasty Masala Dosa with Coconut chutney and Sambar. I start troubling my Mom every monsoon with all these demands but I guess she also enjoys eating these dishes with all of us. Perhaps I am not the only one who loves these snacks during monsoon in this beautiful city, it is the same story for everyone in Mumbai.

Undoubtedly, one of the best places to hang out during the rainy season in Mumbai is the Marine Drive. It's always a pleasurable experience feeling the moistness of the strong sea breeze as we walk alone or along with our loved ones on the long concrete trail that saves us from the blistering waves thrown our way by the gods above. The best time to visit is early morning or during the late evening hours. Of course, it should be raining when you're there to truly savor this heavenly stretch in the southern part of the big city.

The weather is superb right now. It is raining very heavily over here. I am closing my eyes & listening to the rainfall as Sapna has mentioned earlier. Totally awesome, I am literally dancing as I am enjoying this heavy rain so much. I love beautiful Mumbai.

Just came back after getting wet in the amazing rain with friends. It is our favorite thing to do every monsoon, my friends and I love to soak ourselves in the most beautiful rains of Mumbai. Today we weren't that lucky to bite into some hot, tangy, spicy Bhuttas (Corn on the cob) but we are hopeful in a couple of weeks we will have the Bhuttawalas all over the city.
Sapna - Jun 8 2017 - 11:38pm
Listening to the sounds of the falling rain is a must during the rains in Mumbai. You can close your eyes while listening to imagine yourself to be in a beautiful space surrounded by trees, flowers and the mountains.

There are two meetups planned for this weekend. One is an early morning walk at the National Park from 7am to 1pm and 2nd is a travel talk cum meetup of the Roaming Clan in Bandra later the same evening. However, the heavy rains commencing this evening has made us thinking of changing our plans for the weekend. We just might head out to our favorite hill station 'Khandala' but still thinking about it right now. Should be a bit more clear on things tomorrow...

It's our favorite season of the year, the rains are here, the time to head out into the great outdoors, experience the beauty of the city and the outskirts, head to the hills for long walks and mesmerizing waterfalls, time to enjoy with friends, go on long drives, spend quality time with our loved ones, just have a blast, after all this is what living in our great city is all about...
